    I agree Lew.

Getting rid of flies with a sledge hammer is just silly, especially when there's a fly swatter nearby.

Glad I read this thread. Glenn gets a gold star for this one!

I eat my ice cream with a fork.
    Is it a workaround?
No matter, it still tastes good.

Yeah, but the mess down the shirt ???

The only downside about the wall material region, is that: does not allow a 90º rotation in floor plan view, otherwise it works beautifully.
I will be posting something as soon as I finish with my raytrace

    Expansion joint

As I mentioned earlier, I have attached a Quick trace of a front elevation with a 3/4" aluminum expansion joint running 24" above floor height.

It does work pretty well for the wall material expansion joint in "cut" mode. I just use a black tar paper as the final finish and it create a subtractive control joint. Now it is not much easier than applying a polyline solid, but works more correctly...mostly. I know this is still beta, but I got the drawing to lock up several times when cutting a wall section to apply the control joints. It did not like me copying them from wall to wall, or take a horizontal one and copy then rotate. Also when these lines cross, no matter how I created them, they would disappear between the joints in random places or often at the floor or ceiling level beyond the wall. In other words, it did not like me dragging a vertical control joint across more than one floor or ceiling line. It worked, but then would vanish in the rendering. You can see some of the verticals missing.

Also wrapping them around a corner was very hard, as you cannot tell where the 90 degree side is unless you have a 3d window open, then you much drag it up or down bit by bit.
These are 3/4" wide control joints. (I did not use this feature to make those inset window, I did it the old way of cutting the wall right at the jamb)

Yes, when you zoom in the corners do look bad in the recessed control joints.

Here is where the vertical vanishes at the floor to ceiling intersection.

    JT,

What happens if you drag the upper wall down over the floor platform?

    Good Afternoon, JT
If you extend the material region pass the walls it seems to fix the corners
