The company could see that this is an old request from users and then put this feature in Chief Architect. I know that the company has strived to meet the requests, such as ramps, different dimension styles. Old things are still bothered, as the toolbars that insist on leaving the place without permission. :Sly:
I hope that this feature is included in X4.
What do I do to solve this problem is to create a block that stretches only in the center (using the sizing tool in the dialog box Symbol Specification), insert it in the position I want and create entities slabs above and below it. To close the walls, use invisible wall.AMD X6 -16gb DDR3 - HD 2x 160GB SATA HD 1x 500GB SATA- AMD FirePro V8800 - Windows 7 64bits

if they make changes because of the requests here or suggestion forums.
Yes, they do make changes based on suggestions
It sometimes takes awhile....

Yes, we all know that Lew, but I'm not sure if igriao's point that the problem being posted many times here in the forum got the same attention as an official 'suggestion.' I simply don't know how the dev's treat simple (even multiple) posts here in the forum.
Always better to make an official 'suggestion' which is a good point. The purpose of Government is to control the common resources, not the common man.

I made this one using a Molding PolyLine (3 Moldings) for the Top and Bottom Frame and Glass - plus 2 Primitive Solid Boxes for the Vertical Frame pieces.
Cutting out the hole in the corner of the wall is another trick, but it can be done.
Perhaps this will give Chief an idea of how to make a special window tool - actually, I wrote a mini-spec for "Window Walls" (a different thread some time ago) that might also provide this functionality.

what about using pony wall and setting the upper wall to glass shower?
i havent the time right now to tweek it so everything is complete, but i reckon it wouldnt be very hard from this point using moulding polylines etc to achieve desire effect.
in my image below i have two options...pony wall lhs and entire wall set to glass shower on rhs

OK Guys, I already showed you how to create the window itself. Here's the trick to making the opening. Create your exterior walls and then break them where you want the window to be. Select those two sections and set the pony wall to the same wall type at window sill height. Now, in a 3D View select the upper wall section and pull the top down to the Sill Height. Next create a SolidBox as the part of the wall above the opening. You now have have an opening as shown below.
Now you can take the Window that I created in Post #6 and move it into position in the opening. It's just a matter of knowing how.

Joe:
hopefully, CA can study your methods and then create some programming to do it auto-magically

to be honest i wonder if the reason that chief cannot do seamless corner windows is because it isnt a structurally sound method of forming a corner in a load bearing wall?
i wish that perhaps one of the chief guys would add input to this topic so we could learn their thinking about this topic once and for all. obviously it has gone on for some time now in various posts!

1. Nothing says the wall has to be load bearing.
2. I've actually designed a couple of buildings with windows like this where the wall in question was load bearing.
3. There are lots of things that Chief does or can be made to do which wouldn't be structurally possible.
This is just a special case that doesn't fit the normal method of cutting out a hole in a wall - Chief's standard is to always leave a minimum wall intersection where 2 walls meet.

Joe:
maybe CA can create a special version of a pass-thru ... that works like a corner cabinet does ???

I'm designing a steel I Beam structure with a seamless corner window on a load bearing wall - it's done all the time on really high end homes with spans that would shock you - but are, of course, structurally sound.
The developers at Chief have priorities, the users have priorities and sometimes those two desires match, but many times they do not as is evidenced by many requests that have gone unimplemented for years.
In this case the solution is really quite simple and the need for this feature relatively rare. I would assume that the Chief devs simply have decided to put their resources somewhere else, and it is after all, their software and their business decision, which has worked out fairly well for Chief as a company. The purpose of Government is to control the common resources, not the common man.
