    whats happened to my F3?

I installed X.14 last week and now my F3 key does not "save" my drawings anymore...all the other F keys seem to be doing thier job as usual.

Is there somewhere that allows you to set these key functions? maybe mine just got switched "off"?

That must be it...i assigned F3 as a hotkey for "file:save" and it works just like it used to.

Maybe when the official Patch documention is released, it may described in there...but anyway, it seems to be working now. Thanks Cliff

As I posted in the thead to which Cliff refers, we had to remove some mappings to make the new customizable hotkeys work. If you want to use these old keys for those functions, remap them by using the customizable hotkeys dialog.

The help files were updated with the patch, and the release notes are here:

You're welcome Matthew. Keith explained better, but it's what I thought was happening.

    Keith:

I searched the release notes and didn't see anything about the "close" function being changed.

Maybe there could be a summary at the top of the release notes for items that have had their functionality changed ???

Or highlight these items in the release notes ???

The close and save hot keys have been documented as CTRL-S and CTRL-W for several versions. F3 and F4 were left in only for compatibility with very old versions of Chief that didn't support the standard hot keys.

My buddy has one of those special gaming keyboards with the extra 12 "macro" keys on the left side, i wonder if i could assign CA functions to those, and free up 12 or so CTRL+something commands...it might be worth a try. I usually keep my left hand hovering over SHIFT, CTRL and ALT anyway, these might be in pinky vicinity...i'll borrow his keyboard and try it before buying anything though...
