It sure would be great to have a bunch of glass block options, since they're so popular. There's only so much one can do with transparency, material, and bump-map settings. The problem is the block edges and mortar get the the same bump-maps and reflectivity as the block. A quick look on Corning's site shows the myriad of choices we could have.
I just saw that Corning's site also has a designer called EZ-Design based on Sketchup that may be of interest.

Another variation build a frame from a slab with loads of holes in.

Then add geometric blocks( six layered cube), export from view, and import as a window. Colour up the glass blocks as required, there are many possibilities as regards textures, you could use materials which are not normally thought of as "glass", finally adjust transparency.

Well shiver me timbers, This post is so old it should be on Chief Archaeology.
It's been a bit quite of late, so maybe it's time for everyone to bump their favorite old post.

I just down loaded this it is for Sketchup 5 and does not work in 7
That post just baffles me though. It's like they copy and pasted Louis' signature into theirs.
I did that since Louis' post is so far, you all would know what I was talking about. It is on the first page and my post is on the third so I didn't think you all would know what I was referring to.
Sorry for any inconvenience, I've never used a post before.
Where do I find the "Change Glass" area to Glass Block, posted or stated in Louis' post, as I cannot find it? I am using X1.

open dbx
go to materials
select glass under materials....
.... and change the material of the glass to whatever you want, (there is a material for glass block in library, do a search and you will find it)
I tried the wall with only one layer made with glass block (see attached) How would you get this look with this technique but no baseboard?
Peter,
Clcik on wall and check no room definition.
