Instant Email Notifications - POLL
Recently, this forum's email notices that inform us about posting to threads we have subscribed stopped working. Here is the initial posting where this was discussed and updated:
Instant e-mail Notification?
In my case, notifications stopped in July, and then they began again for new posting subscriptions that were updated on the day they were subscribed. Now, no notices arrive and none of the messages are being filtered by Spam filters.
On the forum side of this issue, Chief believes this has been fixed and any problems remaining are on the user end to resolve. However, there seems to be a lot of people who are still not getting notices to subscribed threads. While "a lot" seems large it isn't anything meaningful when it comes time to quantifying an issue. To get a handle on how large, or small the email notification issue might still be, this Poll was initiated in an attempt to demonstrate how many people are still having trouble getting notices.
Hopefully, if the number of people not getting email notices is large enough, Chief will have their email service review their fix to see what else might be wrong.

Roger:
YOu left off the choice where we don't use email notification.
I use the web forum only.

Hello Lew,
I didn't know there was any other way other than the web forum. However, when we post to a thread, if we have Email Notifications turned on, the forum had previously sent an email to those who had notifications turned on in their profile, or selected notifications be sent at the bottom of the posting window.
To know you have a reply to a posting, do you just keep visiting the forum, or do you get an email message letting you know somebody has replied?Roger...

I visit and visit often
It must just be the Yahoo Chief forum that offers email to see the
entire posting. There are some there that never view via online.

I should have updated this earlier, but my T1 line when down and it just returned.
By now, everyone should be getting email notifications. To understand what was fixed, go here and read Dan Park's message, post 376, at the end of the thread: Instant e-mail Notification?
