Ok, that worked. I thought since I didnt check the use environment lights, that it would not turn on the sunlight but I guess moving the sunlight down to zero did the trick. It looks much better.
So do you change any of the settings ever on the advanced tab?Chad Cardin

What would be the recommendations for settings for exterior raytraces? I noticed it appears to be a lot more involved with sunlight etc. Does anyone have any guidelines they recommend to get a really nice exterior raytrace? Ive thoroughly enjoyed the advice on interior raytraces, now I want to attempt an exterior raytrace. Looks a lot more involved so I wanted to ask before I launch into one.

Thanks guys! I will check this out. I guess I built up the exterior raytraces to be more then they are since I thought there was a lot more involved with sun, environment etc.
Thanks for the specs!Chad Cardin

Jintu that is a really good ray-trace. Its a great example of what Chief is capable of - nobody should be able to find fault with that level of quality.
Unfortunately it makes mine look very basic!Gordon Martinsen

I guess I am too impatient to take the trouble with getting everything set up correctly in the first place. I want to concentrate on the design then hit a button and get results like yours even though I know the secret to top quality is in the lighting and material settings.
I think a large number of users work the same way.Gordon Martinsen

Jintu,
Great rendering! I had to go back and see it, I skipped over it reading the specs and then when I saw everyone talking about something I missed, I had to go back. Looks fantastic! Love the unique elevation! Of course the sunlight and that looks great too!Chad Cardin
