hi everyone
when i dimension in a room with the point to point tool i get the proper dimensions ( as per my feild dimensions )when i try and drag the dimensions outside the plan they change what am i doing wrong )

Well, the first thing you are doing wrong is not providing enough information to help you

Are you using the point to point to dimension the exterior also or are you using the dimension string tool?

Do you have the correct settings in your Locate Object set?

Experiment with the various Locate Objects settings on a "Trash plan" to get a handle on the various settings that are available and how they affect dimension strings.
