Roof definitions
Hi everybody. I have asked this question before and did not get a reply, meaning there was no solution(?) I try again with V10.
Is it possible to have different fascia thickness within one plan?
I have an existing roof and anewbuilding with a different roof.
I can not believe that a professional program has only one roof thickness. There must be a solution. Right?
Any help is welcome

On the new building, have you tried to open the roof planes and alter? That should work. I do it sometimes.

Tommy,
By opening the roof planes, I can see where you can change the rafter depth for your framing in that particular roof plane, but I don't see where you can change the fascia. I've been using the 3D Mldg Tool for a different size fascia. It would be a time saver to change from the roof plane dbx. Would appreciate knowing how. ThanksCliff

You're right Cliff. You may have to build framing and then go in and edit framing for the second building. I forgot that I normally do that when a different structure has a different roof pitch.

Thanks Tommy
I still like your suggestion of being able to change and control things in individual roof planes. I believe Alok has a point. Right now, I can only see that you will have to edit the subfascia framing and use the 3D Mldg Tool for the finished fascia, if you have more than one size fascia on the house??? Thanks again.Cliff

You can control the size of fascia in auto-dormers in V10.
I haven't tried to see if the roof groups feature can help with this. Normally all my fascias are the same size.

Thank you for your replies. I have previously worked with 3d pol. lines as fascia. It is slow and not flexible.
I have never tried the automatic dormer. A strange place to change fascias but I will give it a go.
