    Living Area Miscalculation

I have created a house for which the Living Area is 268 sf too big. In an effort to find the offending area I have labeled every room as a garage. After doing such I still have a Living Area of 268 sf - it should be zero. Any suggestions?

Did you re-build floors and ceilings?

In your "Floor Defaults" , do you have the"Living Area" set to "Surface" or "Main Layer"?

Larry - Yes, I rebuilt Floors and Clgs.
David - The default is set to the Main Layer.

Chief measures "Living Area" the way it is programed to and it does it reliably. It does not measure it the way all possible users, building departments, clients etc. might agree is "right or correct" in their corner of the Universe. Nothing can be expected to be all things to all people at all times.

Users who have other deffinitions of "Living Area" use poly-line CAD boxes to measure such areas (these when opened will show in square feet/meters the area enclosed of the poly-line).

If the default modes for this feature do not serve your purposes, I suggest you use the "poly-line" method.

This sounds to me like there is a wall corner not connected somewhere and the program is adding up the wall interiors as a room.
