Foundation not same as default
I have this reoccuring problem with foundations defaulting to 34" when I really want 24" foundation. My default setup is 24". I notice this problem when I use variable heights in the floor plan. 8' in one area and 9' or 10' in another area. My foundation ends up at 34(D).
When I change it back to 24" and rebuild floor it all reverts.
Also my garage floor will end up at around 32".
The drawing I am working on now I have a single level house with a bonus over the garage. I have added 2nd floor that is 2 ft' high over the garage to give the effect of a 2' heel on an attic truss.
Any suggestions as to how to resolve this fustrating problem?

Kevin,
when you construct the building, you work from 0 and up. But when you work on the basement it's calculated from 0 down.
When you change the ceiling height, by selecting the basement room DBX, make sure there is no (d) when you type it in. And then hit the tab key to see if the number you typed did stick.
Try this first and let us know how you went.
Regards, Jan
P.s. I did see your question about the energy heel, but I leave that for the roof experts.
