    the x's represent the intersection of roof planes. Louis has an awesome tutorial on those (he calls the "laserbeams"). They basically represent the location of where the roof planes need to be in order to intersect.

    Someone with a little more experience can get a little deeper on the subject I am sure.

    those x's are cad points...you can delete them by hitting the space bar and hold down the delete key until they are all gone, there is also an icon to delete them in one fell swoop (child icon of the cad point tool)
