X6: Window stucco returns are easy, not so easy with doors
Try it. Build a little 4-wall, use the out-of-box "Stucco 6" wall spec, pop in a default exterior door, and beside it, a window.
You want no exterior casings. Simple stucco returns.
Edit the window spec so the frame depth is 4-1/2", just like some real-life vinyl ones. Uncheck "fit frame to wall," do the frame inset at -7/16" to bring the face of frame out to face of 7/16" sheathing.
Uncheck exterior casing for both window and door, uncheck exterior window sill. Take camera views in and out. Window looks as expected, nice drywall return inside (or it looks ok, Chief fudges it for you) and stucco return looks OK outside at window.
But the door? Uh oh! Where did the frame go?
I had to do a workaround. Specify an exterior casing for the door, 3/4 wide to match frame, 1/16" thick, no reveal. It fixes it, but why should I have to do the workaround?
Edit: Contacted support and sent it in on a ticket.Gene Davis
