Printing Brick Patterns
My Brick Patterns show up great in layout, but when I print there is no pattern. Any ideas?

Try making a pdf first, then print that pdf.

Tommy,
The brick pattern looks good in the pdf, but light enough that they do not print. The brick pattern in a 3D view prints very dark, its only the elevation view I am having trouble with. The roof pattern prints fine, it's only the brick that is a problem.Ben Johnson

Check the settings in the layout set up and page set up. If the pdf is looking fine, then check the actual printer settings. In general, if a pdf looks fine, it should print well too unless the printer settings need to be adjusted.

I have had some pattern lines (light gray) look fine in the pdf, but not print well from a laser printer. I think that pdf's will be more "sensitive" to light shades than a physical printer, but it probably depends on the printer's grayscale ability.
Kind Regards,

I found a solution, Copy the Brick material to the user library and redefine the pattern line to a darker color.

It's really not necessary to copy it to the user library. Just go to plan materials and edit the line color to something darker.

Some brick patterns have the line colour set as white which looks fine in colour but dissapears in b&w. As it is not possible (yet) to send coloured elevations to layout I believe this is incorrect functionality. It took me quite a while to work out what was going on and it must be baffling to new users.
