Good Laptop Specs for Chief X5

    All,

Just want some feedback. I am planning on replacing my laptop for design work.

Can anyone recommend an ASUS product that would be good. I have a fairly cheap Acer computer right now that always freezes when I zoom in to far...so annoying.

It also takes a long time to render large houses switching between views...

What is better to prevent this, more RAM or more processor speed? I have updated AMD graphics driver with no help with the freezing problem zooming..

Basically want to upgrade and wanted a recommendation for a solid mid grade ASUS machine.

Should I go Intel or AMD?

    Thanks,

    Patrick

    Patrick,

I have an identical system to my specs below. It's basically unused and I have a used Targus case that I'll throw in free. I just want $1000 for the system.

I have Asus G73 and plan to get the G75 by the end of the year. Asus has good hardware parts. the new one have usb 3.0 and mini displayport. I wish they had a better graphics card like the 680M but the actual models will be good for 2 or 3 years. They all come with Intel Sandy Bridge CPUs.
