    How to make notes...to library

How do you guys (all genders) make notes and add them to the library? And how do you make a box around the notes and add them to the library?
Reading the "Where do you put wall tags, notes, etc." thread has got me interested.

I just put a Rectangular Polyline around the text, Block the text and polyline together, and then add to the Library.

You can put a box around your text by just checking it in the text dbx ... you can also specify the amount of marging for this text box around the text in the same dbx.

If you don't want a box, and create a block ,just hold down the control key when selecting.

    I see...thanx all...
I noticed in one of my tutorials there was a screen shot of a CAD Detail Management box that had an Electrical Legend entry in it....is it there just to keep things organized and off of your drawing page?....opinions?

I see how a CAD Detail of my door schedule works...seems to me to be a great way to organize your schedules and send them to layout.

    Tim:

The electrical legend was created by the Chief Programmers for your use. The legend was in the CAD Detail Management list because the user created a CAD detail - I would call it Electrical Legend - and then placed the electrical legend from the Library in the detail. It is then very east to send that detail to your layout for your CD's (construction documents - plan set). Any CAD details you create end up in the CAD Detail Management list. Hope this helps.

Not all Chief users rely on the CAD detail to layout method for getting all the details etc. on their plans. Many users actually store details on/in their profile plans/layouts so they are readily available for immediate use. You could also place an electrical legend on a layout page directly from the Library if you so choose. Lots of ways to accomplish different things with Chief.

Thanx Curtis, I didn't even look in the library. I was confusing the Electrical Schedule with Legend but you cleared that up...been digging deeper and deeper into Schedules and how they work....this really helps me to put it all together....
