    roof join problem

    Hi Folks
    This is a new one on me! Would appreciate some help solving it. This roof looks fine in plan view but shows up completely different in overviews.

    I think you will need to post the plan for us to see why your 3D looks like that. The ridge sure looks to be offset in the 3D view.

    My simple roofs looks nothing your does in plan view. I count 5 roof planes in the roof on the left of pic one, and one plane on the right of pic one. I don't understand those double roof plane lines in plan view.

    I built the dormer roof without the SIPs,,, one Roof thicker than the other

    Try to practice the roof tools like how to put base lines on the outer main layer of the walls then by drawing a line try to copy using miror tool then join this roofs by using join roof x with roof y. If did this corecty then try to draw another gable roof that intersects at one side and use draging edges with break tools in the plan view. try to draw what u want on floor plan. Then go to 3d view and c it. go back to the plan view and use join roofs by selecting edge of a roof then click join roof planes then click on the edje of the second one and observe it done. after i saw ur image and realized mising the basic i decided to start jot down the basics hoping it may help u.
