How To Make An Walkway

Hello. I'm making a garden. And I'm having trouble making a pathway for the garden, like a walk way. I would like to keep away from stepping stones or any bumpy surface. If you have any suggestions as to how I can make a walk way or anything about the material to make it I could really use your help. Thanks in advance!
