Regeneration
How can you turn off the plan so that everytime you draw something it dosen't start regerating. The plan is not big but has a lot of things and I turned most of it off but still takes forever after each line or item I draw. Is there something I can turn off or ????
Thank Karnak

As long as you can be decisive in your work, this will greatly improve the speed.Val

What version are you on? Are you talking about things like auto-framing regeneration when you change the roof? You could just turn this off in the framing DBX.

Placing CAD details on the plan view can bog it down. It's better to have CAD items located within the CAD details.
Example...often times a survey is needed to be shown with the floor plan. Having tons of lines etc overlapped onto your plan view can slow things down. In this case it would be better to do a view to CAD of the plan and then paste in the CAD survey.
I'm still betting that the undo-redo tweak will make a huge difference in what you are experiencing. As Richard pointed out, having framing members regenerate with every mouse move can be another cause of reduced speed.Last edited by VHampton; 06-29-2010 at 08:43 AM.
