Download the demo and try some.
I think there might be some problems..
There were some from 10 to x1.
But Wendy has some plans done in version 9 that have very few problems opening in X2..

X2 is much better than 10 and with the improvements, will be faster than 10.

It will cost more to wait till X3..

I have brought several plans forward. The really large ones are a bugger. I spent some time straightening out the layers and what not, but in all, was not too bad. In X2 there is a “reset layer names” button on the L D options window, this helps also.
You may have to go searching for a symbol or two, a material or two,,, or just reassign new ones

    Good luck, rAy

Going from Chief 10 to X1, we had a little bit of cleanup to do in some cases - roof that used to cover wall needed to be dragged out another inch, stuff like that. We had no deal-breaker problems.

I haven't had any problems going from 10 to X2 that I can think of, but I haven't paid enough attention to say whether that's because there aren't any or because we brought most forward into X1 first.

I wrote code in 1984 to make my Sinclair 100 - so I used to be a programmer! So I can say with authority how easy it is to program Chief features! ;-)

I got a few niggly little things that happened, more so on larger files, but the inprovements made it worthwhile. Ones that were very close to finished I completed in 10.

They will open just fine. Z fighting seems to be a typical problem but can be fixed. A little fussing around, but it's certainly do-able.

I just completed a BIG one that was drawn in v10, never framed (foundation was in), and the new owners wanted significant changes. It wasn't too bad.

On a simpler house though, I would probably redraw it in X2.

    Yes from me to!
You'll like X2 much better. Most of the things I have to fix are probably due to things I'm doing differently since C10 in most cases.
