Cross Box Anomaly?
Hope this hasn't been discussed forever but I couldn't find a thread about it.
Try this. Create a cross box. Use the 'copy and paste in place' icon. Try moving the new copy. Now hold the control key down and move it. Seems to behave the same on my computer every time. What do you get?Last edited by HumbleChief; 12-12-2008 at 10:32 AM.

Jonathan,
Does the copy of the cross box you created move like every other polyline box? Or do you need to hold down the control key to move the new copy?
For me if I create a regular polyline box, use the 'copy and paste in place' icon, I can simply move the new copy into a new location, leaving the original behind. With a cross box, when I try and move the new copy the original comes with it, unless I hold down the control key.
Anyone else?Last edited by HumbleChief; 12-12-2008 at 10:32 AM.

Larry,
I can move/drag the copy orthogonally (left/right, up/down): I can move the copy freely when holding down the control key.

Hard to imagine mine's the only system where this occurs. That's pretty wack. But I guess not to hard too imagine that my technique is a bit wack as well. Any way it's very consistent on my machine and I've ignored it for months. Does anyone else get this weird behavior? The purpose of Government is to control the common resources, not the common man.

Larry:
I will "ditto" Jim's results ... the original stays behind. But, I "did not" use the paste function. All you need to do is click on the copy tool and the copy is made over the original and is still selected for moving into your desired new position. I can duplicate what you have done but I opt to not use "paste" as I don't see that as needed. Maybe the behavior is a little unusual when using paste ... I think one of the programmers will have to explain that one for us. Hope that helps you.Curt Johnson

I'm using the 'copy and paste in place' icon which usually sets up a movable copy on top of the original. When using that icon I get the behavior described. I also get the same phenom with the insulation box.
When I use the 'copy' icon it behaves like you both have described and how I would expect it to behave.
Have you tried the 'copy and paste in place' icon?
Either way I'll simply use the 'copy' icon from now on as it behaves normally. The purpose of Government is to control the common resources, not the common man.
