Dimension Woes
Using V10.8a
I have several 12 Dia Circles in Plan View I would like to move using the dimension tool.
My "locate objects" in the dimension dialog box is set to "centers".
All the circles dimensions go to the sides, not the centers. How do I get the dimenstions to pick up the center, not the edge of the circle? I set "manual reach" to 2" thinking that might help, but it did not.
For what its worth, dimensioning a drawing is very frustrating in Chief. Its the main reason I am still reluctant to upgrade to V11.
Thanks in advance

Hi Ed
Show arc centers..
Not sure dimensioning is that bad in XI..
I was told to use the "end to end" tool first and then pick up points from that string..
It has been working much better for me...........

Still wont work. When I do an end to end I dont have the buttons on the end of the dimension. I get that when I do a wall dimension, but not for CAD objects.
Another check box in the "dont spend the money on V11 column, lol
Thanks,

This is interesting. When circles are stacked vertically and I try to do an end to end dimension the end points do not show up on the dimension line.
But
When the circles run horizontally, the end points do show up on the dimension line and can be pulled to the center of the circle.
Is that the same for XI?

Ed
I just checked and that works in 10 also..
Been so long,I had forgotten how to add new points to it.
They are are the ends,XI they are on top of the string..
No pan tool in 10 either..Thing I grew to love...........
