    Autocad Title Sheet Import

    Hello,

I was wondering if anyone know how to import a Title sheet from Autocad into Chief Architect. I have the Title sheet and I want to be able to work on it in Chief. Is there a way to save it as a plan file, and put it into a layout. Also can I copy and paste the title block, to make it as a layout template.

You can import as a .dwg into plan and maybe even layout and then adjust as needed

    Try this.

In Chief - open a new (blank) plan,
import the autocad drawing w/ the title block.
make a block of the tb and save it in the library,
open a new layout you will eventually save as a template.
on page 0 of the layout, insert the blocked tb from the library,
    edit as you need.

Yes, but by using "import" I meant "get it into Chief" in any chosen manner

I could have been more specific

    Hey Thanks guys,

Now, I saved the Title Block into my library, all good and fine. I went to create a new layout template and I opened the Title Block from My Library, and the Title Block inserts, but it is HUGE, how do I shrink it down to the size that the default Title Block that Chief gives you??

Grab the corner of the block.
Shrink it by pulling it inwards.

    Un-block it.

    At the new size...re-block it.
Now save it to the library.

Next time you seek it out from the library...the scale will be on par with your layout sheet.

You could change the scale in AutoCAD before you import it, or you could place it in a CAD Detail in your Layout Template file. Then you can adjust the scale when you send it to Page "0" of the Layout.

You must have drawn the titleblock in model space and adjusted the size to match the scale of the drawing(s) you were using. If you had drawn it to full size in a ACAD layout window (what was called paper space in earlier versions) you would not have the problem. I say that so you know how to aviod this problem in the future.
