Roof Thickness
Have a building that has cupola on it. For scale I need to have that roof thickness be 2x6 with the corresponding fascia scale. The main roofs on the house are 2x10s.
I have changed the rafter thickness in the roof plane dbx and it didn't work.
Changed the roof defaults and all roof changed.
Getting a bit frustrated!
using verision 10. and I have searched this forum and not found anything that helped?

I'm not a V10 expert...but I don't think that you can edit the thickness of the roof.
I'm pretty sure that's an X1 added feature.Jonathan

Things you might try; un-check birdmouth botton in build roof dbx;
in default settings / under framing /under roof /change rafter sizes good luck DonDonald Shuman

This was one of the features I liked for X1. It's real easy to fix your problem in X1.

Open the roof DBX and change the rafter depth.
You may have to move the roof down..
If you change the rafter size in the framing DBX before drawing a manual roof,it will be that size rafter...........

rafter thickness
Unfortunately still no luck have massive looking roof on a tiny structure.
Could the problem be the fascia and not the rafter size??

Saga Continues
Looking at my plan again and I realized that what I am trying to must be possible because it exists elsewhere in the plan. If you look at the attachment elevation
you will see the cupola in the middle has a 10" fascia.
the dormers on the front and on the rear both have a 6 fascia.
I am sure the only thing I did to make this happen was change the rafter depth
but it doesn't work for some reason on the roof planes in the center of the building.
Hmmm.....
It would be one thing if Chief 10 couldn't do it, now its become a challenge!!
