    Stone Trim

I'm just wondering what some of you do for stone trim around windows and doors...

I have used p-solids before, but that just seems to time consuming, but it looks great when it's finished becuase I can create each stone randomly to look more true to life...but time = too much time...

Good question. I do it the same way, piece by piece. I have had some luck with transform/replicate but it is still can be quite time consuming particulary if you have different window sizes.....which is nearly all the time. I would love to hear a better way.

That would be time consuming, but I would block them so I can copy them for another area.

For sure. I save them to the library as well. And every once in a while I get to use them again.

Yep. I make them as solids, block them for the windows and doors that are the same size...but that doesn't happen often from house to house...

Well..for now, I suppose I'll just keep doing what I am doing...

    Thanks!

Before the Big Housing Crush, this is the sort of thing they used to hire me to do.

    Well Guys, I tried.

I tried to make custom 3D molding, like I have done with brick on the video on my website, but with window casing, chief has a limit of 10". With some experimentation, I might get closer, but it's not looking that promising.

The first picture is the 3d solids I tried to make into the trim, the second is the not so great results.
