Why...dimensions
ah em...
WHY!!!! cant CA dimension the overall size of buildings? I wish someone from CA would reply to this thread, its been discussed several times on this forum (and i apologize for repeating it all over again), but i havent seen an answer from CA on the other threads.
When i Auto-dim my plan, it gives me what you see in the first picture...it SKIPS RIGHT OVER THE MOST IMPORTANT PART...
The second picture shows how i think it should be...i mean, why wouldnt we want this dimension string? I've looked at many other design programs and they all include this string in thier sets...
Please, CA, tell me why, just give me a reason why and i'll shut up about it...I have a legal copy of Chief and EVERYTHING, so its ok to talk to me Check my serial # if you dont believe meMatthew

Auto dims only put 3 lines on the plan. In your case you have drawn 4 but there are adjustments you can make. Try changing the automatic reach to 100 and see what happens.
Also change the railing wall no locate attribute and note what happens.Dan Park,

I change the automatic reach from 200 to 100 as you suggested, and it picks up even less...doesnt get the breezway at all...and still doesnt give me the overall 40' dim on the house that it would if there was no breezway.
