    adjusting sunlight for exterior view

I have fiddled with sunlight quite a bit now and everything I do makes it very bright where the shingles on a home are even washed out. I have adjusted intensity to zero with no results. Even turned the Sun off if you can imagine but still wash out. Ideas?
