    Red Face

    Hi guys.

I've read what seem to be two major threads on terrain and stairs... and followed the links (one of the tutorials pointed to seems to have been removed)

I'm still having problems. The stairs want to sit at ground level, and nothing I've tried will bring them up :/ I did try making a room, but everything went nuts then.

I've attached a plan/jpg of what I want to create - and for the masochistic of you, I've attached the project file.

(I know I should be going through tutorials on the CDs... but I can't find them, they're in some box, somewhere since we moved )

    Thanks,
    Linzi

    Hi Linzi
Set your platform top to the top of the wall and then add the stairs.
A slab works better than a wall right there. It keeps the other wall connected in render better..

The stair platform.Click to open it and change the height..
You might have to adjust your terrain polyline a little.

Good thread, thanks for all the info. I think the terrain is probably still my weakest area of CA.

I did a search on what I think is a related topic and didn't come up with much. Is there a way to do the sidewalk/driveway apron as in this link?-

    http://www.lawalks.org/pedSurv/3cV02.htm

They are really starting to push hard to have the sidewalk go behind the apron for ADA (like the lower left hand image in the link), even retrofitting older neighborhoods where that sidewalk ends up behind the property line.

It's not that critical, I usually just add CAD lines to the site plan to show it, but I was just curious if anyone had any thoughts on that. Custom symbol?

I am thinking yes but my terrain is not that good.
    My explaining it is worst..
