Printing elevations in color from layout
How would I get chief to print elevations, sections etc. in color from a layout sheet. Have no problem with floor plans but can't seem to get other views to print in color

When you send an elevation to layout...it's going to print black and white as you already stated.
But...if you export your elevation as a jpeg...and then import it to a CAD detail...you can stretch the image and size it to meet the accurate dimensions of your drawing.
Then simply send it (the CAD detail) to the layout sheet. Choose whatever scale you like.
Tip....save the jpeg in the archive folder associated with the plan before importing it.
The program won't ask to search for the file every time you open the layout up.

But is it to scale ?
I was given the understanding that going to .jpg lost scale ?
I'm not really clear on this point

Lew,
You're right about the lost scale.
I draw a CAD line for reference....and keep stretching the jpeg until it's very darn close.
For what it's worth...it sounds as if the intention of having a colored elevation in the viewport is more for presentation ...rather than construction purposes.
A few hundreths (plus or minus) should work fine.

Just be sure to add a note "Not To Scale"
