Disappearing Text

In Layout, I am blocking titles (Front Elevation) etc, etc. with the scale (1/4" = 1'-0") .....as soon as I block it, it disappears. all layers are on.. layers sets are good to go.......oh where oh where have my title blocks gone?

Never mind, I found it..........after blocking it, it put (not all of them) on a #044 layer.......some went to text layer, some went to Default cad layer........gee what a surprise. must be a bug

Lets see where there would be "user error".......text is on text layer.......select both lines of text, click on block tool.......text disappears is put on layer #044.......you tell me where the human error is........god I can't stand when this program is defended like it were a child when we all know there are faults in it. And the time wasted figuring out these so called user errors...........I'll have another one for you in about 10 minutes as soon as I'm sure it's not user error.

Sorry Doug, but this time I think it's you. Not user "error" but user not understanding what happens. When in plan view, check your current cad layer. I bet it's 044. If you block something in your layout, it will automatically be put on the current cad layer. I just tried it.
I know it may seem a little odd, but that's how it works.

Barb, This is in LAYOUT NOT PLAN.....and I may agree with you if all the lables were different, I did one lable and copied it 8 times. And if my plan current plan layer weren't set to Grade Below.
After copying them I edited the context of each. As I said prior that some are going to the Default Cad layer, and some are dissapearing and are going to layer 044......and as you can see layer 044 is NOT off. So why are they vanising.

Just a guess here, but are you working from a file or template brought forward from a previous version? If so, you may want to consider a fresh start.

Thanks Sam......but no, It's a template that originated from the inception of Version 10.00.I never brought ANYTHING over from 9. I made all my changes and set all my defaults and saved as. This has never been a problem or at least I never noticed. It may have gone to whatever layer but never dissapeared. My template (prototype) has been used for at least 20-30 jobs with never a problem. Well almost never And I'm not going to loose sleep over it either. But thanks for the input.

what items did it put on 044, can you post your template?
