    Paul;
    This is the statement that I have used for many years. I put it on page 0 of the layout so that it will appear on every page:

    OWNERSHIP OF DOCUMENTS
    These drawings and specifications are instruments of service and shall remain the property of Phoenix Construction, whether the project for which they are made is executed or not. They are not to be used by the client or any other party or entity on this or other projects, in whole or part, or as an extension to this project except by agreement in writing with appropriate compensation to Phoenix Construction.

    Can I use that (or a close 'faxcimilie' there-of)?

    Your wording is very well put...

    Thanks George!

    That covers the problem completely.

    I issued my first set of preliminary plans today with the words "Preliminary not for construction or permit" in a very light shade of red.

    I need to reset the red lighter so when the printer prints in B&W the words turn gray not black.

    I also am considering the words George has provided.

    Thanks to all,

    Paul

    As long as you have the property of "your company or name" they are your property and can not be used without your permission. Just add the line if used in part or full by anyone the owner of the property will bear all costs for the recovery of drafting fee's.......then charge them whatever you want.....
