Multi-use Files

I create basic plans that we use for many different customers. I need to have an original set of plans for each individual customer so that they are able to make the changes that they desire. If I create the basic plans in Chief 6.0 and give them a general name does it cause any problems to open the file and go to file and save as and give the plan another name. If this will cause problems how can I do this process. I want to be able to get all of our basic plans in the computer and then all I will need to do is make changes. Any help would be appreciated!
