resizing interior walls

I'm new to chief, and i'm wondering how i adjust the length of a small interior wall using the manual dimension button?
Can somebody please help?

Click on the wall that you want to be shifted over. Then click on the dimension string (right on the numbers). A dialogue box will open up showing the existing dimension. Type in the measurement that you want the wall to be and hit enter.

The wall will shift immediately to that number.
