Does this mean that this forum is being phased out? Am I correct that the new forum will be more closely monitored by the powers that be.

Yes, No.

The old forum is being phased out. The new forum will be monitored at about the same level as the old forum.

Right now I and others are working hard to find and fix issues that may come up. It's a new software release so there will be bugs.
