    I'll look into that.

I suspect you may need to accept session cookies to make it work. I'll try to figure out how to repro that. I had a lot of that error earlier when I first started making the new login system work.

Posting will be turned off in a few weeks

It is going to get very confusing having two active forums
    at the same time

the old forum should be closed for new postings ASAP

I agree, I just posted the same question in both, not knowing who is looking where.

I totally understand what everyone is saying here.

First, I will say this again, one year is a date that is not set in stone. If we feel there is a lot of value at the end of one year we can consider an extension.

The goal here is to provide a single sign on experience. That was not possible with Vbulletin.

There are some serious security reasons as well. You may notice the new site is 100% https.

Vbulletin has never been able to effectively prevent spammers and hackers.

The new forum should effectively put up a huge road block to that problem. Since we now write and maintain the signup code, we can assure your data is much more secure than software where the source code is public.

I am not happy that we had to make this transition either. It's not something we take lightly. However, it has to be done.

We need to identify the best items on this site and make them available on the new forum or in another format, such as help articles.

None of us want to loose the content available on this site. So long as it continues to provide good value to our users we will continue to provide access.

Hey Dan, I get it, you guys definitely have your reasons, but there are a few navigational issues that should be solved if possible.

    1. Newest posts on top of window
    2. An easier way to attach attachments, I just tried with a new post and also a post I was editing and I did not see the ADD ATTACHMENT OPTION. I had to start a new REPLY, maybe I am missing something..... whatever, I could not find it.

BTW, is this CA's forum format you guys created or are you guys using something akin to vbulletin that I assume is an OOB program that you guys bought off the shelf, just curious.

    Dan:

I went into to my Firefox Security tab and copied the new forum link to allow Firefox to open that link. That didn't help either. I even got out of FF and then back in ... that didn't help. My last resort would be to restart my computer but I dont' want to right now. Hope you can figure this out for me. Chomping at the bit to get my new handle. I was hoping for one like "Spudnik" ... maybe it is already taken. Thanks.

Edit: I even went out and knocked the snow off my dish and that didn't help either.

You would think knocking the snow off the dish would make the difference. Is it possible to try a different browser?

I'm at a loss to explain why it's happening but I am relatively certain that it's a redirect issue. In firefox can you click on tools> web developer> Web Console and refresh. I would be interested to see what redirects you are seeing.

I think I found a potential issue in firefox that can cause this problem.

Under Tools> Options> Privacy there is a dropdown for remember history:

If you are using custom settings you may need to add and exception for the following:

    forums.chiefarchitect.com
    accounts-rp2.chiefarchitect.com
    login.chiefarchitect.com

Choose allow on all of these and see if that works.

Doesn't it beg the question - Why?

I just added the other two exceptions and tried the link again but no go.

The first time I did the Tools>Web Developer>Web Console ... There was a long line of info including something wrt PDF's that I didn't get the last time I repeated this. Here's a snip of the most recent results:

Name:	WebDevWebConsole.JPG
Views:	540
Size:	37.5 KB
ID:	62589

Way over on the right side of each of those lines of info is: vbulletin-cor...:11

When you say refresh, do you mean just click "Enter"? I couldn't find an icon or anything in the menu that was a "refresh" command.

    Edit:

When I hover the mouse cursor over the vbulletin.... this is what it says:
