I answered my own question. So for whatever it may be worth to anyone else, here goes:

I had defined the main layer as the sheathing layer, for dimension purposes. I redefined using two main layers.....the stud wall and the sheathing (moving dimensioning to the sheathing layer, which was the original purpose for using sheathing as a main layer). All worked fine. Apparently the program deemed my main layer too thin, although I had not received any error message to that effect.

One of the things I really like about X6 is the ability to have more than one main layers. Solves so many issues. I just need to use it, right?
