Ceiling Heights - want to pull my hair out
Issue - Drawing a main floor that has 100" finished ceilings.
easy enough to set when drawing the floor, but as soon as i generate a 2nd floor, it defaults back to an 8ft ceiling. Driving me nuts!!!!!!!!!!!! Even if i adjust the floor structure of the 2nd floor to be less depth, it still is not co operating.
This is the 2nd or 3rd time I have encountered this issue.

please help!

Chaos:
You could try setting your default ceiling height to 100" for finished ceilings and then go from there.Curt Johnson

Did you do Edit>Default settings>Floor, then adjust ceiling height in the dbx? If you manually adjust the ceiling height inside the room and then try and auto build on top of that it will go back to whatever the default is.

Like the guys above mentioned, changing your default settings should do the trick. If you don't want to change your default settings, I think what you need to do is change the number in the attached screenshot when building your second floor.

easy enough to set when drawing the floor
This is one reason why I have been advocating for room locks (and wall locks and floor locks)
etc for years and years and years
once I have a room or floor etc set and I place a lock
I would appreciate that Chief issue a warning before changing MY work
it is a real PITA to have to keep verifying that my settings haven't been messed with

I use a macro in the room label for ceiling height and floor height exactly for that reason. It's easy to spot any changes.

Room Lock - Rocks.
Would like that feature.
Much better to have a warning than to discover a problem!Edward

I don't get it.
Don't you adjust the floor and ceiling heights in the Floor 2 Defaults dbx when you build the second floor?
If you do that correctly, there shouldn't be a problem.Glenn

Yes set the floor defaults.
If a room FFL or CL is changed it can affect the plan.
You can't see the changes Chief has made in plan view.
You discover then in cross section or elevation.
It would be useful if Chief warned that it was changing affected floor levels.Edward
