plan restore after program shutdown

In version X6 with updates I had the program shutdown in the middle of a floor plan
Was not able to save the it before shutdown
I restored the floor plan from the auto save backup which brought the plan back but now has serious lag time with all movements
Is there a proper way to restore from this and any way bring the plan back to normal?
