    Stupit Ron X6 update

I was just attempting to layout my standard layout page. When I open the X6 std layout and erase all the crap they put on the page and try to insert my standard drawing as the template for my layouts it does not move over. What am I doing wrong please. Why does Chief make upgrades so complicated.

Ron, what exactly did you do that did not work, I mean, what steps did you unsuccessfully take?

Were I to want to do that, I would copy-paste my 2D stuff from an old layout into a plan view plan, CAD Detail window, and then copy-paste it into a blank layout, did that not work or did you do something else, I wonder?

    Ron,

Are you having trouble centering the Border on the Page? There are tools for dealing with that in the Print Menu.

Why not just use your X5 layout and save it as an X6 layout template?

    David,

I have my std border which is an X5 plan, I rrought up the X6 border and erased all the chief titleblock stuff that I did nor want. I then attempted to send my std border to the X6 layourt to no avail.

    Ron,

    I don't get it.
Are you saying that you are sending a .plan to a layout to form your layout border details?
If so, this is very strange.

I should have. Finally got it. Don't understand why chief's layout is not blank. Or am I missing something.

Try this...Select what you want to bring over to X6 from the X5 layout...block it and save to to your library, open new X6 layout, get rid of what you don't want...then insert saved block, explode and edit as needed.

Your welcome, it worked for me when I brought my TB's forward. Just be sure there is nothing coming forward with your TB from a previous plan file, like an elevation view or anything from the last plan you may have inserted into the layout. It will continue to reference the old plan file which you definitely don't want.

    Ron,

Just out of curiosity, why didn't you just take your X5 Default Layout Template and open it in X6, Then save it as a Layout Template and set that as your Default Template in X6?
