Rod,
Sorry, I should of said "revolving a Face", not "revolving a Shape".
You can also see the radius around the drain hole.
The brief version:
In an elevation view, using the Face tool, create half the basin profile with 0,0,0 at the centre of the plug hole (this makes the Revolve easier).
Use the Revolve Object tool to revolve the Face through 360deg around the Z axis.
Make it's Maximum Deflection to zero for a nice smooth bowl.
It only takes a couple of minutes to create the bowl.
These can then be used with the Solid Subtraction tool to cut holes in the counter top (I used the Box tool for the top).
I think tools like the Face tool, Revolve and Extrude, Convert to Solid, Explode Shape, along with the Boolean tools can be used more than users realise before going to other programs such as Sketchup.Glenn
