    Hip Connections in X5

I have recently purchased Chief X5 from X3 most everything is the same with some new features I haven't yet dove into but one thing I don't understand. I have attached a partial plan and a section elevation to ask why do I have some kind of overlap at the hip corners? Is there a setting I could have wrong?

    Thanks
