Build Roof. Can this be done??
Hi,
Not sure if this is even possible but can you have a hip roof with different pitches? Trying to get the 2 outside sections 6:12 and the end section a steeper pitch due to space restraints.
Thanks,

No problem. You just have to do the roof planes manually and set the pitch to what you want for each plane. You could have a different pitch for each roof plane if you want.

It can also be done automatically by setting the roof pitch in the wall DBX so you can have a different roof pitch for every wall.

You know what framing carpenters call irregular hips, those with unequal pitches? Bastard hips. Why, who knows.

I use these types of roofs all the time so as to save costs when I want front gables to be say 12:12 yet the builder only wants 8:12 for the main body (which dictates height). I insert those little bastards everywhere, and I am sure the framers don't have nice words for me.
