Many users miss the fact that a layout file or plan file do not always have all the bits it needs saved in a single file. They often have external dependencies.

Understanding how these dependencies work starts with understanding how your computer's file system works.

Next, understand that plans can reference external textures, images, pdf files. etc.

Finally, understand that a layout can reference external images, pdf files, and plans (which may have additional references).

Now that you have mastered the concepts, adopt a process that works for you.
