Sink Cut Out

I’m assuming there’s a simple explanation because I haven’t had need to come across this before.

I insert a Chief symbol – sink – into a vanity (Chief cabinet). Open the symbol DBX and generate a new 2D symbol, using the “Generate Block” button – just for grins.

Using the new 2D symbol, which I did not modify, it now cuts a complete hole in the counter top around the bounding box instead of just the sink outline as the previous symbol did. ---- How come???
