Is that as simple as doing LIBRARY<UPDATE LIBRARY CATALOGS? Is there anything else I must do?

Dog gone you Dennis. I thought I had this figured out, now I too am confused.

Here is the question, can we apply a mirror material to anything and have it be a mirror? Isn't that an option? Apparently not.

Try this ( I have), get a mirror material that works. Not paint a door with that material and the door is now a mirror, good, now try to paint a mirror frame with the mirror material, it is not a mirror, bad.

So why does the door become a mirror yet the mirror frame does not.

Yeah Dennis, I am with you, I am confused

Dennis, paint your door with a mirror material, it is now a mirror, good, now paint the door casing and the base board with mirror material and it is not a mirror.... what is the difference?

This may be part of the answer.

A slab can become a mirror
A psolid an become a mirror
A closed pline converted to a solid CANNOT become a mirror..... this might be part of the problem

A countertop can become a mirror, the cabinet itself cannot..... I don't know what this means.

    Moldings cannot become mirrors

Dennis, check out your wall materials at the shower, the solid up top can be a mirror, but the wainscot below (a molding) cannot be a mirror.

So back to the mirrors, they were symbols, but how were they initially created, more specifically how was the frame created, with moldings or psolids with holes in them.

Your mirror that works, well the mirror itself was probably a psolid, (you can change to mirror material), but I bet the frame was made of a molding, you cannot change the frame to a mirror.

    Interesting exercise......

But remember, even though you can not get mirror effect with standard view, you can always ray trace and you will not get the mirrors on moldings.
