how to get an imported picture to overlap
Can anyone suggest how to get the vines to overlap in chief layout? So I imported this pic, set it to layout page 0 then when I go to input the home picture the vine block background overlaps the picture cutting it off.
The square box's are easy enough in Chief I just could not seem to locate a detail scroll or vine to give it some attention.
I am also open to a different sales brochure format if there are any suggestions.
Thanks
Brian

If you are designing a sales brochure that includes lots of pics, text, and art work , I would suggest something like MS Publisher or even MS Word... It can probably be done in CA, but sometimes it more efficient to use other resources...

You need to save out that image with a transparency mask and it will work.

William, Thanks for that... I went the MS route 1st with Publisher and it handles the Art work fantastically, it just struggles with the floor plans I created in Chief. We are using a camera still photos as the rendering and then the floor plans from Chief. I figured once I get to a picture it would probably not change as often as some of the interior layouts... See http://www.flahertyhomes.com/pdf/colin.pdf
That was done on a Mac.
Gawdzira, When you say save the image with a transparency mask do you mean when I export it from MS Publisher? That is were I first created it. Any starting steps would be much appreciated.
Thank you to you both. -- Brian

I do all of my image editing in Photoshop. If you do not have Photoshop you can work on a free image editing program called Gimp. It works in a very similar fashion to Photoshop.

Brian,
Adobe In Design/Illustrator will handle dxf and 3D pdf. It's also much more attuned to the professional print process vs. MS Publisher. However, there is a learning curve.
