    Viewing restricted videos

    Hi,

I am new to this forum and new to CA. I am starting a job in two weeks that includes knowledge of CA but it is a lesser responsibility. My employer already knows I am new to CA but have experience with other CAD programs.

I would like to view the educational videos but most are restricted to unless registered. Can I register or do I need a software license to register? I see no where to register to view the videos. Perhaps I need to download the trial version?

    Thanks,
    Henry

The videos on Chief Architects website are only available if you have paid for SSA (support and upgrades). There are a lot of videos on either Utube or by doing searches on this site if you have registered for Cheiftalk. This site is also a great training resource with free videos :http://www.chieftutor.com/

Feel free to shoot out any question no matter how elementary it may seem. There is a very active user base that loves to help out beginner and advanced alike.

You should check with your new employer to see if he already has SSA. If he purchased chief within the last year, he probably already has it. Even if he purchased chief a long time ago, he may be keeping his SSA current. As long as he has SSA, then you should be able to watch all of the company videos. If he doesn't have SSA, you might want to talk to him about renewing it. You would then have access to the videos and he would get free upgrades and support.

    Hi Kilgore,

New employer may very well have SSA but, I am trying to get trained up as much as possible prior to starting the job. I am a manual reader and there is what seems to be a pretty good user guide that is available with the trial version. I should be able to get a basic understanding by following the user guide and the online resources suggested by others.

    Regards,
    Henry

    Hi David,

Thanks for the links. Between the basic videos CA offers, the free ones you suggested and the user guide, I should be kept busy for the next week.

    Thanks,
    Henry
