    Cabinet Style

I have a client who sent me this pic of something his cabinet guy is suggesting (an actual pic from cabinets he built). Of course my client wants to see it in the model. I've been playing around with for about an hour, and my main issue is can I "inset" the door panels this way, or should I try to build the outer section with psolids?

    Thanks for any suggestions...

    Johnny,

That looks to me like full overlay with Pilasters or Wide Filler Panels on each side. It shouldn't be that difficult to do with the Cabinet Tools. You might want to add a Molding Polyline for the horizontal banding element(s).

Here's a pic (3 cabinets). The side pieces are simply cabinets with blank faces, no toekick 26" deep. Add a Custom Counter Top and a Molding Polyline for the base, intermediate band and crown moldings under the Counter.

I think I understand - so do a full overlay (not try to inset), and then add pilasters or filler panels. I was going about it trying to get the doors to inset, but I see you are saying built out not in. Thx

I was going to suggest that you use pilasters as well. The problem with pilasters is that cabinet moldings won't wrap around them and they won't stop at the crown molding.

You could create the moldings using molding polylines like Joe suggested but I ended up using two thin cabinets for the pilasters with the same moldings.

There are probably a lot of other ways to do this too.
