    cabinet crown moulding

I have added crown moulding around the entire kitchen and all upper wall cabinets. For the full height cabinet the crown moulding doesn't show up. If I drop the moulding by 1/16 of an inch it appears or move the cabinet to the right slightly it will appear. I don't want to move the cabinet either way, so how do I get the crown to show?
    Thanks all,
    Tom

Post a plan for better answers. Your pic is somewhat distorted, but it appears the only crown in the pic is from a room molding pline. If the plan was attached you would probably get a more straight forward answer within a few minutes from other users.

I tried to mimic what you are doing and I am getting some strange results. In the attached file I made an upper cab adjacent to the full ht. cab and put crown on each. The cabinet tops are both at 90" with a 3" crown. If I place an offset of 3" vertically for the crowns it will stick to the wall cabinet but disappear from the full ht cab. If I bring them both down an 1/8th all is well.

Another option is a Room Molding Polyline - edited to go around the Cabinets. This is probably the simplest solution.

    Here is the plan.
The wall cabinets have a crown moulding on them as well as the same room crown moulding.

Here is what I get upon opening your file. Are you getting something different? This looks ok to me.

Alan when I first opened your plan I could get to 3" offset and it looked fine. I messed with it some more and the problem you're describing developed. I wonder if that's what's happening to the OP's full height cab?

Sorry, for I forgot to move the moulding back down the 1/16". If the crown is aligned with the cabinet next to it, the moulding disappears.

Everything seems fine when I open the plan as well, and all moldings are at the same height as they should be.

I personally do mostly kitchens with CA though and have also noticed very finicky behavior with cabinet moldings. Your particular plan works fine for me though.

I'm working on a big kitchen remodel now and had some crown moulding start acting up again, so I decided to look into it a little more...I didn't totally pinpoint all the issues, but one item that seems glaringly obvious is that full height cabinets and wall cabinets simply don't recognize each other properly.

Never really noticed it because it almost never makes any difference, but when an upper cabinet crown moulding butts into a full height cabinet, it seems the crown moulding on the upper cabinet never recognizes the situation. If you remove the doors, or use glass doors, you'll see the crown moulding building right through the wall of the full height cabinet.

Also, its not as consistent, but when an upper cabinet is connected to a full height cabinet, the opposite end of the upper cabinet may display jumpy and inconsistent connection issues even with another upper cabinet.

Very strange behavior. Always just dealt with it, and will continue to do so, just thought I'd throw that insight out there for anyone who can use it.
