    Perpendicular Wall Screws Wall Break

We need the ability to keep wall breaks from sliding to a nearby perpendicular wall intersection. Ya know, like in real life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Post your plan file. What is that tail end on the wall? Is that a railing? There is usually a way to get these things to work. You might need to temporarily place a break in that wall before snapping it in.

Try placing an invisible wall set to 1/16" as a barrier between the two walls so that the break is not in the wall that is immediately joined to the perpendicular wall. Seems to work in the quick test that I just did.

Let us know how yours works out.

Edit: As an additional note, if the invisible wall is approx. 1" then the end of the wall will wrap and you can place it anywhere you want without it snapping to the intersecting wall.

    Rod,

You shouldn't need to use workarounds like invisible walls to fix this. If you break a wall at a specific point and you lock the wall at a fixed length, then Chief should do as it's told.

Thanks for the responses everyone. Figured some things out, still working on others. Got the right side exterior door in plan view to set properly between store front mullions AFTER extending the problem wall (grr!) to the outside wall. Still can't get the left side exterior door to fit between mullions properly. Grr! Still need to install aluminum and glass store front and build arches similar to north side of building along west side. And other details.

    It's late. I'm tired. Thanks again, ya'll.

Glad I stop searching the program, I was under the false impression that CA used to have a feature that allowed you to set the distance from a break that is searches for intersecting walls. I guess not. Would be nice to see in CA X6.
