CAD block does not appear when associating symbol with CAD block

In X1, I have created a symbol. During the symbol creation process, I am asked to associate a 2D CAD block with the symbol, and am presented with a list of CAD blocks. However, the CAD block that I have created for this symbol does not appear. I have refreshed the library, and the CAD block does appear in the library browser under My CAD blocks. Why does it not appear in the list of CAD blocks available during the symbol creation process?

    Going a little crazy!!

Be sure it is "Blocked" and then make sure you give it a specific block name so that name can easily be found in "CAD Block Management". if you cannot find it, it is because it is either not a block or it does not have an easily recognized name.
Once you find and associate it with your symbol you can adjust its relationship with the 3D symbol (x, y, z) so it appears correct in both plan and camera views (this is done by way of the adjust symbol dialog).

Yes, it would be nice to have a viewer box within the cad block DBX.

David, thanks for the quick reply. It actually turned out to be a different problem. I had made a block out of blocked items, which for some reason can't appear when making a symbol. It was an electrical symbol "S" with a line through it, and the "S" and the line were blocked together. When I unblocked the items, and saved them as a single block, it appeared in the symbol creation dbx

You can't use nested cad blocks for symbols.
